A Visionary Capacity Builder Local Activation at The Fish Hut

We’ve spent enough time talking about what’s wrong with Hemet.

This is about what we can do together.

I’m Andréa Raquel Young—The Social Entrepreneur, @SugarFreeCoach and founder of Better We, Inc. and The Xstream Network Live. I’m bringing one of my learning experiences into the community at no teaching cost to the host business because I’m going first.

The idea is simple:

A local business provides the space.
I bring the learning experience.
The community shows up.
Together, we help that business build capacity.

🐟 First Up: The Fish Hut

Our first Visionary Capacity Builder Local Activation is being hosted by The Fish Hut in Hemet.

The Fish Hut has a very practical capacity need: approximately $1,700 for commercial refrigeration/freezer equipment.

That equipment matters. Refrigeration capacity affects what a restaurant can store, prepare, offer its customers and sustain as it grows.

So rather than simply asking people to donate to a local business, we’re creating an opportunity for everybody to receive something in the process.

Your ticket gives you access to Come Back to Yourself: Business Owner Edition, a practical learning experience for Hemet business owners and community leaders.

We’ll explore:

Clarity. Capacity. Community. Access. Sustainability.

We’ll talk about building businesses that don't consume the human beings running them, strengthening what you've already built, identifying resources and relationships, and creating more sustainable ways to grow.

You'll also meet other local business owners, creatives, community leaders and people interested in seeing Hemet thrive.

And yes—we're eating. 😂

Part of supporting a restaurant is actually patronizing the restaurant. Come experience The Fish Hut and its food while you're there.

Your Ticket Does Two Things

First, you receive a real learning experience facilitated by me.

Second, your participation helps The Fish Hut build the capacity it needs to continue serving our community.

Proceeds from this local activation will help support The Fish Hut's commercial refrigeration/freezer capacity goal.

You can also make an additional contribution if you'd like to help us reach the goal faster.

This Is Bigger Than One Refrigerator

The Fish Hut is first.

Then we'll do it again.

This local activation is part of a larger approach to community capacity building: residents, entrepreneurs, organizations and local businesses using what we already have—our spaces, knowledge, relationships, dollars, audiences and skills—to help strengthen one another.

That approach also connects with the broader Hemet work already taking shape through projects such as Young Fields, where local businesses may eventually host workshops, growing stations, fundraising activities, community education and other collaborations.

Because a stronger local business doesn't only benefit its owner.

It employs people.
It serves people.
It buys things.
It creates gathering spaces.
It contributes to the character and economic life of the city.

A strong community builds strong businesses.
And strong businesses build strong communities.

Who Can Participate?

You don't have to own a business.

You don't have to know the owner of The Fish Hut.

You don't have to be connected to TXNL, Better We or #LivingSugarFree.

You simply have to understand something very basic:

If you won't show up for somebody else, you cannot expect everybody to suddenly show up when it's your turn.

Eventually, the business, organization, project—or person—who needs the community to show up may be you.

I'm bringing the class.

The Fish Hut is bringing the food.

We're bringing the people together.

You bring your presence.

Learn. Connect. Eat. Strengthen Local Capacity.

Andréa Raquel Young
The Social Entrepreneur & @SugarFreeCoach
#LivingSugarFree
